Inspired by Japanese zen gardens and wabi-sabi philosophy, together with Nea Mäenpää we designed a unique and sleek furniture that appears to consist of two asymmetric sculpturelike pieces. The table is durable oak making it suitable for both public and private spaces. With its every detail thoughtfully designed, “TOBI-ISHI” is an elaborated and fresh piece that aims to appreciate the beauty of imperfection in nature. The 1:1 foamboard prototype took part in an exhibition for Helsinki Design Week 2021.
